Art Therapy
Self Art Therapy

When I have physical pain, I do my own, self-styled art therapy.  I have no
expertise in the field of art therapy, so am not advocating my approach.  I
simply want to share one of the things I have done to address my own physical pain.

Below are seven pictures I drew this past week or so.  Today is September 28, 2007.
I had knee surgery over two weeks ago, and I simply had not expected the pain.  For
some reason I kept thinking it wouldn't be any worse than a root canal.  Silly, I know.

One reason I want to share this is to show that we don't have to be fine artists to use
our innate creative natures to help our bodies be soothed from pain or to heal.  I believe
that art helps me heal.  That may or may not be true for you.  This stuff is from some
primitive part of my soul, and from perhaps some childish, or child like, part of my spirit.

Ignore the stuff outside the circle of the pictures.  If and when I frame these, they'll be framed
behind a mat and the mess won't show.
